I just got these today and went for a four mile run. Bear with me, as I'm pretty excited by these things- they are incredible. I ran faster, farther and with less pain than with any shoe I've ever worn in my life. They are incredibly light- literally the same weight as the racing spikes I wore when I ran track in high school. They are extremely comfortable, pliable, and give runners the best of both worlds- the protection of a good running shoe when you need it- i.e., going downhill, running on rough surfaces, etc- but also the feel of running primarily on your forefoot and reduced joint shock with that running style promotes. I had a pair of the original skeletoes, but had to stop running in them because I kept straining my calf muscles. With this model, that shouldn't be a problem because I can balance the amount of stress I put on my calves vs the amount on my heels.
I've worn a lot of shoes in my thirty years of competitive running, and had to even give up running a few times because of severe knee and joint pain, but with these shoes, I have zero pain AND increased performance. My first thought after finishing my run was to wonder what races I could start training for, and that's not something I've even considered in the last ten years. Yes, I really love these shoes- Fila has created an amazing, affordable shoe. If you've been searching for an reasonably priced shoe that will allow you to run faster, farther and with less joint pain, look no further than the Skeletoes Amp. This may be the last running shoe I ever have to buy.
